Elizabeth Seton Academy opens.

It is located in the former St. Gregory High School at 2220 Dorchester Avenue. It is founded by the Sisters of Charity-Halifax after the closing of Monsignor Ryan High School (originally St. Margaret’s). The only Catholic girls high school in Boston today, it is operated independently of the archdiocese. The school closes due to financial difficulties in June 2016.
